This BN-CB01 Cobb absorbance tester is a special testing equipment to detect the surface water absorption of paper and cardboard, also known as paper surface absorption weight tester. The instrument using Cobb test method, also named of Cobb absorbency tester. Those sheets of loose paper (such as newsprint), non-sintered paper (such as blotting paper) and other paper with high water absorption are not suitable for this instrument. The definition of paper and cardboard surface water absorption (Cobb) value: the unit area of paper and cardboard at a certain pressure and temperature, within a specified period of time the amount of water absorbed to g /m2. The specific formula is as follows:
C = (G2-G1) x 100.
Where: C – Cobb absorbwater value;
G2 – the weight of the sample after water absorption;
G1 – the weight of the sample before water absorption.
